Sailing
The coastline of Montenegro was made for sailing… from the spectacular Bay of Kotor to the southern beaches of Ulcinj the coastline provides a stunning backdrop for your cruising holiday. All along the coast, there are small towns and bays to discover. There are many islands with deserted fortresses and old stone churches to explore. There are ample moorings and small marinas, with relatively inexpensive clean fuel. Winds during the summer months are usually light in the mornings with very reliable onshore breezes (3-4bfs.) during the afternoons. The summer sea-state is normally slight/moderate in the Adriatic due to its relatively short fetch and benign weather.
Another attraction is the uncrowded sea lanes and anchorages, even during the peak summer months. Montenegro is a favourite stop over for world cruisers but does not have the crowd of boats found elsewhere in the Med. Its only a matter of time before this changes, many new marinas are being planned so visit now before the rush!
